Wizardsbane

Wizardsbane is a fast and focused 2D pixel-art metroidvania where exploration, movement, and combat all lead toward one final showdown with the dark wizard ruling a corrupted castle. After the death of the castle’s lord, the fortress fell into ruin, and a mysterious wizard moved in, twisting its halls with magic and unleashing monsters onto the nearby town of Grayhaven. Every hero sent to stop him disappeared, leaving you, a fallen knight with a troubled past, as the town’s last hope.

The castle is one huge, interconnected world filled with enemies, traps, secrets, and hidden paths. As you explore, you’ll unlock new abilities that completely change how you move: dashes, wall jumps, double jumps, slides, and more, letting you reach new areas and uncover shortcuts you couldn’t before. Combat is fast, responsive, and built around learning enemy patterns and using your abilities smartly instead of relying on brute force.

You’ll meet NPCs scattered throughout the fortress: traders, wanderers, survivors, and strange figures touched by the castle’s magic. Some offer upgrades or helpful items. Others share clues about what really happened after the lord’s death, why the wizard chose this place, and how your own past might connect to the curse.

Everything leads toward one goal: reaching the heart of the castle and facing the wizard in a single, intense boss fight designed to test every skill you’ve learned. One enemy. One duel. One chance to stop the evil or fall like every knight before you.
