Wizardsbane Devlog #1


Hey everyone!

Welcome to the first devlog for Wizardsbane! We've been quietly laying down the foundation for this dark and mysterious metroidvania, and things are finally starting to take shape.

So far, we've nailed down core player movement: dashing, double jumping, and wall jumping are all working smoothly, giving the game that tight, responsive feel we’re aiming for. Combat is also up and running—simple, but satisfying—and we’ve started implementing enemy AI to make encounters feel dynamic and challenging.

Right now, we’re focused on designing the first few areas of the game. The fortress is slowly coming to life, with each room adding a bit more atmosphere and danger. From gloomy corridors to secret nooks, the world is starting to feel alive (and a bit cursed).

This is just the beginning, but we’re excited about how things are progressing. More updates coming soon—and maybe a sneak peek at our first enemies and NPCs!
